The “Rest”

Just got a Word from my co-worker today… “Do your BEST and let God do the REST…” ~ Sounds simple doesn’t it? But if we can just grasp how much meaning it holds!

Do your BEST ~ meaning doing all you CAN do in all situations. Don’t like your job? Do your best in the one you have. Don’t have a job? Keep searching and putting in applications. Are you sick? Do the best, meaning getting plenty of rest and drinking plenty of water. Seem not to have enough money? Do your best at keeping your finances on track. Have a goal for a healthy weight? Do your best at eating right and doing exercise. In anything, we have to do our best, so God’s rest can happen.

REST. Gods Rest. She said “…sometimes we put expectations and deadlines on Gods REST. When we say OK God, I am going to do this, and in turn, I want you to do this, this and this… And that is simply not how it works! When we do the best we can and give all we have to give, then we have to allow ourselves to be secure in what Gods ‘rest’ really is! Whether it be that new job, or lost weight or whatever you are waiting on God to do, know God enough that He knows what’s best for you more than you do!

God knows and sees your heart, the purity (or lack thereof) in it. So only He knows what you are capable of doing and if you are meeting those capabilities. He knows that you have done all you can and that’s where his REST comes in. So rest int he assurance that He who have started a good work will bring it to completion. As long as we are doing the best we can, the He got us covered! Be encouraged!
