Brand New

…anyone ever tell you, you are acting brand new? Tell them back… it isn’t an act…

.. be OK with the newness in Christ Jesus.. it’s freedom!

I used to be the one who worried completely about what people thought or said about me completely and openly confessing I’m saved and I love the Lord! Then I came to the realization, that through my freedom in Christ, I can be OK with whatever they think. Why, because God defines who I am, not some person.

I was having a discussion with one of my friends, and I was telling him “I used really hold on to people, friends during my infant years of being a Christian. I would try to persuade them and try to convince them “Hey, I’m still the same Amber.” I can still be me, I can still go out and be modest. I can still do this. I can still do that.” And he started to shake his head. We both agreed that when you are living for Christ, truly old things pass away, and you can’t do the things you used to anymore. When you are mature in Christ, you really won’t want to anyway. As you continually (and consciously) feed the Holy Spirit in you, you are starving your “old man”, and before long it dies out.

This is the new creation Paul talks about in 2 Corinthians. New thoughts, new actions, new living, new being, new person!

Just a quick note…
