God is calling, but have you picked up yet?
No, not the aspirations you want to do for yourself, but what God has told you to do? Do you even know what He has told you to do?
I am so inspired by a story shared with my coworker. She called me into her office and told me her last day working with us will be in about 2 weeks. She then shared why.
“Well I was offered to be on full time pastoral staff at my church. I am already on part time there and they offered me full time, on their paid staff. I prayed about it and asked God if this was the right way to go, and He affirmed it with me.”
Although said that her bubbly personality won’t be present anymore, I was overjoyed that she was doing what God told her to do. I was even more happy to see there are people still reverencing God and coming to Him for direction.
The bible clearly outlines in Corinthians that God has given us a life that He has designed for each one of us to live. God has planted purpose and assignment for every individual on this earth. The huge problem we face is that we jump into things that aren’t assigned to us, people who are meant for us and things that have no purpose for us.
So what can we do?
#1 – Know that God has called you to a specific purpose!
1 Corinthians 7:17
AMP “Only, let each one live the life which the Lord has assigned him, and to which God has called him [for each person is unique and is accountable for his choices and conduct, let him walk in this way]. This is the rule I make in all the churches.”
#2 – Acknowledge God in every step you take! (Every decision today forms your tomorrow later!)
AMP “In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].”
And I liken this version as well:
MSG “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! “
#3 – Know God will show you what way to take! God promises He will show you your path to take!
NLT “The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.”
(The amplified put it, those who are willing to listen! Ouch!)
Is God to calling you to a particular job for a season, but you’re trying to jump start your business? Is calling you to start your business but you’re at a well well paying job you don’t want to give up? Is God calling you to ministry, but you’re keeping your testimony because of embarrassment? Is God calling you single for this season but you’re steady trying to keep a man / woman? Is God calling you to be in another state but you’re too scared of the move? Is God calling you to be an example, but you are trying to fit into the crowd?
Is God calling you? Have you answered?
